Places To Visit In Japan - Where To Go

If you’re an avid traveller, it’s a good idea to look for places to visit in Japan. This is perhaps one of the best countries to go to because it has something for everyone. This is the place where you can shop, dine, enjoy cultural sites and frolic in resorts all in one visit. Here are five of the most recommended places to check out.

Nagano

The true haven for skiers in Japan is Hokkaido. Because of its status as a top tourist draw however, it is also understandably packed in winter. Staying in Nagano can also be quite costly. If you’re looking for fine ski slopes and more reasonable resort prices, you might want to take a detour to Nagano instead. You’ll get the same enjoyable snow adventure in Nagano as in Hokkaido but with lower costs and fewer people to fight for a spot on the slopes with.

Nagano would also be a wonderful place to visit in Japan during the winter months if you’re looking for holiday work. Qualified foreign applicants get the extra benefit of free lodging, meals and ski passes. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Kyoto

If you live and breathe culture and history, then Kyoto is the best place to be. The place has extremely well kept samples of Japan’s feudal past because Kyoto was spared from the destructive forces of World War II. It boasts of holding 17 UNESCO world heritage sites. These include the temples of Tenryu-ji, Kozan-ji, Kinkaku-ji and Ninna-ji. If you plan to hop to each of these excellent sites, you’d have to make sure you’ve blocked several days on your vacation calendar.

Okinawa

Of all the places to visit in Japan, Okinawa is perhaps the best destination for summer. It has a subtropical climate which makes it a great place to go to even in January and December when northern regions are blanketed in snow. Aside from the excellent climate, Okinawa also has the best beaches for sunbathing and very clear waters for scuba diving. They say a holiday in Okinawa is almost like a vacation in Hawaii.

Tokyo

It only seems right that you start a tour of Japan in Tokyo. This is one of the busiest cities in the planet but it is also a prime spot for sightseeing, shopping, dining and modern adventures. If you’re traveling with kids, you might want to make a pit stop at Disneyland or the Ueno Park Zoo. If you’re looking for cultural attractions, there’s the Imperial Palace and the Asakusa Kannon Temple.

Osaka

If you don’t like the idea of diving into the hustle and bustle of Tokyo, you might want to go to Osaka instead. This is actually the third largest city in the country and a great place for Japan jobs for foreigners, but the atmosphere here is less hurried than in the capital city. The place also has a strong historical and cultural flavor that you can sample in places like the Sumiyoshi Shrine and the Osaka Castle.

There are a lot of outstanding places to visit in Japan. These top five however should be more than enough to give you a well-rounded experience of what the country has to offer. There’s s no way you’d get bored at all. No matter your interest or vacation preference, there’s something for you.
