Going to Kaui and have questions on SCUBA...?

We live in Connecticut (in the states) and we really want to go scuba diving while down there, but do not want to spend a lot of time "training". If we get certified here in CT, will the allow us to bypass the training section and just get the basic safety info, or will we need to take the class for their insurance reasons? Anyone who has scuba dove with a group out side of the state that they live in???

A diving certification is worldwide, you don't need to retrain everytime you go to a new location. Full time, a PADI open water course will take about 4 days. Have fun.
