
whale biologist need to hv strong skills of swimming?
i want to be a whale biologist. i want to be a killer whale trainer before but soon,i found out that killer whale trainer need to hv strong skills of swimming. i'm 16years old now,there is no time for me to learn swimming until i can fulfill the target. BUT i really want to hv a jod that relate with killer whale.i want to see them all the time,touch,play with them and so much more... I NEED HELP...is there other jods that relate with killer whale? a whale biologist need to hv strong skills of swimming or scuba diving? what should i do to make my dream come true? i'm not a rich person,so, is this will make things hard for me?what colleges i need to go? my country didnt provide courses of marine science..where should i go and live if i go oversea?what about the cost(the fees of study)? i hv asthma,is this will make me cant do the job?i must good in english? i'm not good in biology,chemistry,physics and mathematics actually but i'll work hard! i believe i can do well!! what should i do?
Whale biologist and trainer are two different things. One studies animals the other teaches them to do tricks.
Usually rule of thumb when working with wild whales is never get into the water with them. I work with a whale research group in the summers. They rescue whales stranded on beaches or caught in fishing gear. Getting in the water with a whale can be a very bad idea. If the animal becomes startled it can dive pulling you down with it.
All the research trips I took part in were with dead whales or in a small boat. ( Which was REALLY cool we saw something like 50 dolphins and 3 fin whales)
You need to bring that Biology mark up but you still have lots of time to work on it.
