Good Tropical Vacation for Family?

Hi! We are looking for a cheap place to go on vacation for a week. So far we are thinking Tahiti (Bora Bora) and Hawaii. My two sons are 16 and 12 so they need to be able to have fun activities like hiking, snorkeling, scuba diving, etc.

Our budget is at $3000-$4000.

Any recommendations would be great! Thanks!
And that doesn't include airfare, a relative has a plane we use.

You probably are not going to Tahiti with 4 people on $4000. Maybe 7000 for 2 people. You need to think Punta Cana or Playa del Carmen. To save on lodging you can look at a website like vacation rentals dot com unless you want the all inclusive deals.
