Belize. SCUBA. Recommendations?

Planning a dive trip for new year's week. Belize looks good/cheap/easy to get to, etc. Need suggestions as to where to go, where NOT to go, and how to not get killed there. Thanks!

Amrbergris Caye in Belize is a good place to go. You would fly into Belize City and take a puddle jumper over to the island. Turneffe Caye is another option. Don't expect wild nightlife on either island but they are great for relaxation and diving. Most of the diving off Ambergris Caye is done around the Hol Chan Marine park. The Blue Hole is a good dive to say that you have done it but definitely watch out for nitrogen narcosis if you decide to do it. Deep dive training should be considered a must for that dive. The marine life is more established and you will see larger versions on parrot fish and if you are lucky pods of dolphins. Been to Belize several times and loved it.
Main mode of transportation on Ambergris Caye is golf carts by the way.
