Bahama Scuba Diving

If I'm not a strong swimmer, is it wise to go scuba diving? I'm going to a class then going to a 2 hour dive

I'm going to the Bahama's and I'm not very good at treading water but I can swim.

It's better to be a good swimmer, but you can do it without being one. Just make sure that you have a good dive buddy and that you can carry the weight of the tank, bc, regulator, etc. Also, make sure your scuba instructor has a rescue diver certification and is really certified. If you're in the Bahamas often times people will say they're certified when they're not. The safest thing to do is to get certified in the United States because of the regulations set upon scuba divers and instructors. I would personally suggest going snorkeling before scuba diving because the only differences is that with scuba you bring your air underwater with you. If you've snorkeeled before, you should be fine. Make sure to ask about the current and to scuba dive in relatively calm waters, as that is the safest environment for weak swimmers. Have fun!
